Consensus 2020, the leading cryptocurrency-themed conference will take place virtually

The organizers of the largest Bitcoin conference Consensus and the New York blockchain week announced the event will take place virtually because of the coronavirus epidemic.

On March 13, 2020, CoinDesk (@coindesk) tweeted:

‘Consensus 2020 will no longer be a physical event, but we are pushing forward and will be holding a virtual conference. Ticket holders will receive refunds on their tickets and we’re excited to have you all join us virtually in May. Full announcement: https://t.co/kx5kv9gmr8’

Consensus has been held since 2015 and is traditionally considered to be one of the key events in the cryptocurrency industry, attracting thousands of visitors, investors, entrepreneurs, government representatives, and other market participants.

However, currently, when the COVID-19 virus was declared to be a pandemic worldwide and countries are undergoing the unprecedented security measures as they close their borders, restrict flights, or proclaim a strict quarantine regime, running the event in a physical venue is impossible.

However, taking into account its importance for the industry, the organizers set their mind on holding the conference virtually and are currently working with ‘one of the best platforms’ that runs online events.

The organizers assure those who have already bought the tickets will get a full refund within 60 days. It’s worth noting, a number of events, including BlockchainUA in Kyiv was added to the list of canceled or postponed conferences in the last few days.
